Handmade Wholesale Pricing Calculator
Wholesale means selling at a discount to retailers who resell at your retail price. Build up to five tiers with minimum order quantities and discounts — the calculator flags any tier that falls below your minimum acceptable producer margin.

The formula
Each tier discounts your retail price by its discount percentage. Your producer profit is the wholesale price minus your unit cost and any selling fee. Producer margin is that profit divided by the wholesale price. The retailer's gross margin is how much room they have between the wholesale price and your retail price.
Worked example
Unit cost $20, retail $50, minimum margin 20%. Starter tier (30% off): wholesale $35.00, producer profit $15.00 per unit, margin 42.9%. Bulk tier (50% off): wholesale $25.00, producer profit $5.00 per unit, margin 20.0% — at your minimum.

Frequently asked questions
What wholesale discount should I offer?⌄
There's no universal number — it depends on your margins and what retailers expect in your category. The calculator shows you the producer margin at each discount so you can decide based on your own minimum, not a guess.
What is a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?⌄
The smallest order a buyer can place at a given tier. Higher tiers with bigger discounts usually require a higher MOQ so the discount is justified by volume.
Why is a tier flagged?⌄
Because its producer margin — your profit as a percentage of the wholesale price — is below the minimum acceptable margin you set. That tier would pay you less than your floor.
What's the retailer gross margin?⌄
The profit a retailer makes buying at your wholesale price and reselling at your normal retail price: (retail − wholesale) ÷ retail. Retailers usually need a healthy margin to stock your work.
